O regime em questão combina doravirina e islatravir em uma única dose diária. Este novo esquema terapêutico experimental mostrou-se mais eficiente na manutenção do tratamento contra o HIV quando comparado ao padrão de referência, que geralmente envolve a ingestão de um a três comprimidos diários com duas a três classes diferentes de antirretrovirais, dependendo do estágio da infecção.

A pesquisa, que acompanhou 553 voluntários já em terapia há pelo menos três meses por um período de 48 semanas, dividiu os participantes em dois grupos. Os resultados são animadores: 98,6% dos que utilizaram o comprimido experimental alcançaram e mantiveram a carga viral indetectável ao final do estudo. HIV indetectável e esperança pela cura
Quando o HIV se mantém indetectável, significa que também deixa de ser transmissível e tampouco pode adoecer o organismo. Quanto menor for a carga viral inicial no momento do diagnóstico, mais rápido se chega ao nível indetectável. Segundo o Painel do HIV no Brasil, com dados atualizados em janeiro pelo Ministério da Saúde, 86% dos brasileiros em terapia contra o vírus estão no estágio indetectável.
Para o infectologista do Einstein, esse resultado – o melhor da história – é consequência do trabalho do SUS em diversificar as terapias ofertadas para a população. “O que este estudo está indicando é uma simplificação e uma diversificação dos esquemas terapêuticos que já temos no Brasil. A gente vive uma revolução em relação ao HIV usando menos drogas, menos medicações e criando alternativas para driblar a resistência viral, então esse avanço é mais um tijolinho das descobertas importantes do combate à doença nas últimas décadas”, disse Moacyr Silva.
